Blues, like every style of music, has its own set of problems to deal with. One of them is repetition. Sure, people love the blues for its staple sound, but that can get old. Unless the players are like J.T. Coldfire, whose guitar playing represents the best of traditional versus new and different.
From what I can glean from his website, Coldfire sounds like one dedicated player, and one who’s effectively made his mark on the world musically. In the 15 years he’s played professionally, he’s been all across the United States and even entertained European audiences. But frankly, it isn’t that hard to see why it seems he’s doing so well.
